iPhone 8 – The Verdict

This week marked the launch of Apple’s highly anticipated annual iPhone launch. However, the latest edition to the iPhone family – the iPhone 8, was somewhat overshadowed by the coinciding launch of Apple’s exclusive tenth-anniversary handset, the iPhone X.

When you compare specs of the iPhone 8 and the 8 Plus to that of the iPhone 7 series, there are no ground-breaking new features. You’ll benefit from its new front  and back glass design, improved display, increased battery life, but if it’s bigger and better you’re after, you’ll need to dig deep in your pockets and fork out a hefty £1,000 for the iPhone X, which boasts face recognition, complete glass design, OLED screen and wireless charging.

So, what’s our verdict? We’ll it’s fair to say, we aren’t in any rush to upgrade to the iPhone 8 – if we’re going his, we’re doing it in style. The iPhone X certainly feels like a step in the right direction for Apple, which has been somewhat slow with its developments of late. But, we’re just not sure it warrants the eye watering price tag. Certain features, like the animoji, are more likely to appeal to the younger generation, who are unlikely to be able to afford such a luxury. Which leaves us wondering, has Apple missed the mark with its pricing strategy? Either way, it’s fair to say that the die hard Apple fans will be counting down the minutes until they can register their pre-order, we’e just not sure that we’ll be joining them on this occasion.
