Sophos Central

Your Sophos protection just got even better.

This July, Sophos are making a number of enhancements to their Sophos Central Service to ensure customers get the best possible protection. As well as adding a host of new protection technologies, they’re also updating the subscription names to better reflect these new capabilities.

Central Server Protection Advanced will soon become Intercept X Advanced for Server and Central Server Protection Standard will become Central Server Protection.

Intercept X Advanced for Server (formerly Sophos Central Server Protection Advanced) will now include:

• Deep Learning

The artificial intelligence built into Intercept X Advanced for Server is an advanced form of machine learning- it detects both known and unknown malware.

• Exploit Protection

Protection from attackers, by blocking the exploits and techniques they use to distribute malware.

• Active Adversary Protection

Protection against advanced hacking techniques that are performed by attackers.

• WipeGuard

Advanced anti-ransomware protection, preventing adversaries from encrypting the master boot record (MBR).

• Root Cause Analysis

Detailed, forensic-level analysis illuminates the root causes of attacks and their infection paths, and offers guidance to help remediate infections.

Central Server Protection (formerly Sophos Central Server Protection Standard) will now include:

• Malicious Traffic Detection

An early indicator of new malware they may be present, that works by monitoring HTTP traffic for signs of connectivity to locations that are known to be dangerous.

• Synchronized Security Heartbeat™

Synchronized Security simplifies and unifies defences with real-time intelligence sharing between your servers and firewall.

• Web Control

A level of control over potentially inappropriate websites for acceptable use by site category.

• Application Control

Point-and-click blocking of applications by category or by name that also enables administrators to block certain legitimate applications from running on servers.

• Peripheral Control

Monitoring and managing of access to removable media and peripheral devices connected to your physical servers.

• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Elicits a reduced risk of accidental data transfer to removable storage devices, corporate web browsers, email clients and IM clients.

• Windows Firewall Control

Provides the ability to monitor and control the native firewall on Windows servers.

• Cloud Workload Discovery

Attackers take advantage of unused cloud regions to avoid detection.

When will these changes happen?
